Schools in Westfield, Handsworth and City Families of Schools have been working together in a Transition Project supported by the City Learning Centre
Y6 Pupils have taken pictures of their school and themsleves. These have been used by the pupils to create an introduction that they will use early in Y7.
The pictures have been used to create a short video by sequencing the pictures and then recording a comentary.
Some pupils have worked at the CLC to make their video whilst some have worked at their schools with help from the CLC staff.
The pupils have used 'Sight & Sound' software for the project.
Producing short videos such as these helps students develop literacy skills (speaking, reading). The process is simple and children can create a story quickly.
Making videos is an activity with potential in many areas of the curriculum
