Curriculum support

We can support many curriculum developments and are happy to work with teachers both at their school and at the City Learning Centre. The support will be different for each project and may be:

  • Developing a series of lessons covering a single topic
  • Supporting teachers in a class as they develop their ability to use ICT in their teaching, especially interactive whiteboards
  • Working with small groups of teachers either from a single school or across the partnership
  • Developing learning materials that will be used on the VLE

Students enjoy using the centre and gain a lot from the experience. Schools report that students return to school with very positive attitudes and that progress in other subjects does not suffer.

Support for Partner Schools

Partner Schools have begun to identify curriculum areas that want to work with the City Learning Centre to develop their teaching and learning.

The CLC will commit to an in depth programme over this academic year that will be monitored and evaluated.

Programmes identified include developing learning through the VLE and extending the ways in which interactive whiteboards are used.

If you are a teacher in a partner school and want to work with the CLC, please talk to your curriculum manager or to Sue Finnigan (look on the About Us page)

Technical consultancy

Schools are increasingly reliant on their ICT to deliver the curriculum and to manage their resources effectively.

The CLC provides advice and guidance both strategically to Senior Leadership teams and operationally to ICT services (network managers and technicians).

Rob Taylor will be running a series of events at the City Learning Centre for network managers in partner schools. These sessions are valuable for managers as they provide an opportunity to identify solutions to problems.

The CLC is an acredited CISCO Academy and provides training courses to ICT services staff.
